Our Charter and Disclaimer

We are the 212th Attack Battalion and part of the Novare Alliance. As part of the Novare Alliance and as they are our mother group, we run on the same and are guided by the principals as them.

Novare Alliance (Novare means in Latin ‘to make new’).

We are a Professional Costuming Group and we are based on Christian Principles. Our aim is to provide people with clear role models based on characters they can relate to, or recognise. Using genres such as Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Superheroes in a fun way.

We especially want any children or youth to see us as good role models, being characters, which they can relate to. With activities such as Face-painting, BBQ's, Live Music, Songs, Dance, Bouncy Castles, Games, Bible Stories, Conventions, Charity Fundraisers, Themed events, Adult only socials to build moral and other events.

The genres we have chosen to use are the ones people most relate to. We are proud to be the first Christian based costuming group in the world. We hope you will join us, either at one of our events or as one of our members. We look forward to getting to know you.

Terms and Conditions of Membership

Here follows all our terms for membership. Every member agrees to these upon joining/registering with the Novare Alliance.

All costumes need to go through clearance: - Photos should be submitted to: clearancephotos@live.com. Photos should include front, back, both sides (Left and Right Sides), and a head shot (without masks/helmets etc including any detail on the costume. This includes any updates individuals make to their costume).

Please Note: All Members MUST get a CREW T-SHIRT as this is part of your ID. It also serves for when you Crew and turning up to events as some events may have security.

• A Credit Card sized Photo ID Badge, which will have a unique code, your name, username and including Security features, which are copyrighted to Thornley Marshall Designs. For us to make your Badges, we will need a Passport sized photo of you on a white background. If you can have one sent to us via: novarealliance@live.co.uk we would appreciate it. Your ID Card will be free of charge (to you but will cost us). If lost or damaged (Defaced) there will be a £5 (British Pound Sterling) charge for a replacement to cover the costs of producing another.

• We ask that costumes consider a distinguishing mark or feature/s if say they are i.e.: a Storm Trooper (as having members trying to find themselves in photos of 20 Storm Troopers is difficult to pick out). This helps also when tagging photos.

• Sign/Report in on arrival at events, due to health, safety and security reasons. We will inform you on our group welcome, as to fire and safety regulations and where to gather during a fire drill.

• During events, we have a Zero Tolerance Policy (ZTP), no swearing, foul language or anything we deem inappropriate. Members should be polite, courteous and professional at all times. However, should someone be caught swearing they will have to give a small contribution (usually £1) to our swear box. We feel it’s necessary to be a good example to others and this will also show children what to do in a similar circumstance and that even words have consequences.

• As we are a non-profitable organisation, so we ask members to provide their own transport and accommodation where necessary, to and from events (Accommodation is usually only needed at big events which are more than one day); we will help with directions and recommendations for accommodation were applicable. We can not unfortunately reimburse people for their travel or accommodation expenses.

Minimum age 18 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian or an of age minder to accompany you, who is consented for by a parent or guardian.

• We cannot be held responsible should someone get hurt at one of the events, we will always have 'CREW' Members at events to help with health and safety. We will try to make sure the person in question receives appropriate medical treatment if required and it will be logged in our 'Accident Book'.

• We are not liable to any lost or damaged to belongings (including costumes)[i] and it is the responsibility of the member to use a secure casing. We will have things to help with certain repairs but advise that the member brings their own as a back up should a costume break during an event. If a member should lose their official identification during an event they will need to inform us immediately.

• Our tolerance on Abusive Behaviour is Zero, this comes under our ZTP. There are no excuses. This includes Swearing, Inappropriate Flirting, Inappropriate Touching, Foul language, Shouting, Discrimination, Physical or Mental Abuse, Intimidating Behaviour, Manipulation, Belittling, Criticising and/or Bullying including Racial or Sexual Orientation.

• Anyone who tries to hack into our accounts or view personal information without permission will not be tolerated at any cost and Legal Advice will be sort.

• We want to work alongside other groups respectfully. We do not wish to cause any disagreements or animosity. If however, this happens and is irresolvable we will ask you to withdraw your membership until an agreement can be formed. If a member whom is supporting us at an event and is found to be working with another group without informing us, we may have to take disciplinary procedures and the member will be spoken to, as this is not acceptable for us or other costuming groups. At an event, you are either with one group or another. This also comes under our ZTP.

• If a member has broken the rules they will be informed via email and given an official warning. Should they continue, they may have their membership cancelled and asked to return all group identification, and delete any information regarding their membership. An Official Warning can be appealed, but if the member is still found guilty, they can not re-appeal.

• Copyright ©: - The individual has to Copyright © their own pictures before they post images, we trust that they are authentic and not taken without permission; this also includes copyrighting anyone else’s work.

• Members who want to share their photos/videos on the Novare Alliance website, are allowed to do so if they are related to an event we have covered. They are allowed to use photos they have taken themselves for personal use. We do ask if a member wishes to use a photo/video we have on the site, they MUST ask the permission of the owner of the photo/video, whether it be the Novare Alliance or one of it’s members. If we find this has been violated we will ask for them back, if the member does not comply then we will proceed with disciplinary measures, but we hope that it would not come to that. This falls under our ZTP.

• Any complaints/issues should be taken directly to the co-founders and not discussed with other group members. We will try to resolve situations quickly and in a professional manner. We ask for all communication to be sent via email to novarealliance@live.co.uk marked “Complaints”, even if you have spoken to us in person, as this is for our records for helping resolve any issues or disputes.
